August 3-17, 2026

Qualifying round

An online test in legal theory, constitutional and international law. Available in five languages, available from any country.

II

August 20-25, 2026

Semi-final - Case study

Written analysis of a real legal case. Two parallel tracks: public international law and comparative private law.

III

August 27-29, 2026

Final - Moot court

Oral hearings in Moscow before an international jury. Finalists are flown in at the organizer's expense.

Frequently asked questions

Who can take part in the Olympiad?
Students aged 16 to 25 — final‑year high‑school students, undergraduates and master's students from any country. There are two age tracks: school (16–18) and university (19–25).
Is participation really free?
Yes. All three rounds, study materials, the final round in Moscow and the awards ceremony are free of charge. For finalists from abroad, the organizers cover travel and accommodation.
In which languages is the Olympiad held?
Working languages are English and Russian. Qualifying round materials are additionally provided in Arabic, Chinese and French. The moot court final is conducted in English.
What documents do I need to register?
A scanned passport (or national ID), an official transcript from your current educational institution, and — for university students — a brief CV. All documents may be uploaded as PDFs.
Can I prepare with sample materials?
Yes. Practice questions and a syllabus for each round are available in the Documents section. Registered participants also receive access to recorded preparatory lectures.
